The leadership structure at Blue Creek Baptist Church was distorted, undefined, and unbiblical. Therefore, Blue Creek Baptist Church found itself at a pivotal moment. Will the church adopt a new leadership structure that works for Blue Creek Baptist Church both now and in the future, or will the church refuse to adopt a new leadership structure and continue in a state of apathy and mediocrity? The purpose of this project was to develop a leadership organizational strategy for Blue Creek Baptist Church, Perry, Florida, by completing research, conducting interviews, and enlisting input from key individuals in the area of leadership structures. The project director believed that implementing this strategy would help Blue Creek Baptist Church establish a new and more effective leadership structure that would serve Blue Creek Baptist Church for years to come. Next, the project director will select and train a diverse group of church members to serve on the strategy development team (Dream Team). The Dream Team, along with the project director, will design a church revitalization strategy for Morgan Chapel utilizing the best practices in church revitalization. Finally, the project director will present the completed strategy to the deacon body for evaluation and then the church for ultimate approval at a scheduled business meeting. Using the Preaching Skills Enhancement Model, the project director researched the literature of expository and evangelistic preaching to identify essential invitational skills of biblically based sermons and invitations favorable for a response. The project director then assembled a select evaluation team from the congregation to complete a pre-test of his present set of invitational skills during four routine weekly messages.After this, the project director wrote and delivered a series of expository sermons and accompanying invitations intentionally utilizing the skills he discovered. Then the project director used the same evaluation team as well as an expert evaluator to complete a post-test of the development and extension of the invitations that follow the expository sermons. The project is based on the ministry skill enhancement model. The project director researched the fields of expository preaching and biblical genre, focusing on six of the major genres of Scripture: narrative, poetry, wisdom literature, parable, epistles, and Revelation. Annotated bibliographies and reports on expository preaching and biblical genre were reviewed by Dr. Lewis Richerson and Dr. Steven Smith, experts in the fields of expository preaching and biblical genre. From the reports, rubrics were created to evaluate the sermon development process. The project director developed sermon structures, outlines, and manuscripts utilizing the knowledge gained from the research to structure the sermon according to the structure and genre of the text. The project director delivered six sermons to the congregation of Galilee First Baptist Church. Dr. Richerson and Dr. Smith evaluated the sermon structures, outlines, and sermon videos.
