The hypotheses was that through appropriating tools and techniques from two secular theories - Solution-Focused Brief Therapy and Cognitive Therapy - people of hope, especially those who have lost a spouse of a number of years, could learn to live again, laugh again, and love again with the faith and hope that their separation is a temporary one, not a permanent one. The model was a blended pre-post Functional Change and Theological Appropriation of a Secular Theory approach.
