It is important to provide a relevant equipping program to transform the young-old from retiree to an active servant of God, thus to live their life fruitfully and meaningfully and accomplish the task given by God which serves to bless the middle old and old-old generation. This paper focuses on two main areas: the transformation principles through the study of the life of Moses from shepherd of the flock to the leader of the Israelite crowd, and a study of the equipping program of the Golden Army of Heaven (GAOH) and modifications of it to suit the Singapore context. In many faith communities, these types of clerics have been preferred because of their resemblance to everyday people. The purpose of this project is to reframe or present differently definitions of what bivocational clergy and ministries look like through analysis of denominational and local church statistical data, archival documents, and participant interviews. Through this study the author challenged they current common definitions of what it means and looks like to be bivocational; suggesting that these definitions complicate the possibility of developing sustained, healthy, whole and holistic ministries because they ultimately cheapen the value of ministry. Pretest assessments, using surveys, questionnaires, and interviews, of leaders from a diverse background of denominations, showed deficits in areas due to a lack of effective self-care. The primary intervention for this study was a workshop entitled, 'Walking in My Destiny with Effective Self-Care.' The workshop taught how to use the biblical notions of Sabbath and Sabbatical to improve self-care. The author followed this parish from a time of low self-esteem to a position of vitality and less dependence on the diocese. The tool used to observe this change in this parish was ethnographic research and a focus on intentionality of worship, tradition, spirituality and story.
