Ninety devotionals were prepared and passed out.  Surveys were used to evaluate the effectiveness of the project. A goal of 1.4 million dollars was established.  Two years were allotted to involve as many as possible of Canda's 300 churches and her 50,000 constituents.  The funds would build a church to seat 1,000 people and a Christian education unit.  All remaining funds would be used for on-going evangelistic programs.  This thesis explains the method of fund raising used and serves to model similar future endeavors.  We received 1.1 million dollars towards our goal. Two surveys were employed: an eight item survey was sent to district superintendents; and a sixty item survey was sent to pastors.  The superintendents reported that these pastors served credibly in two capacities: pastoring small churches and as new church planters.  The pastors were married men in their late twenties or early thirties.  Most had some form of formal pastoral training, half having completed seminary.  All found pastoring to be satisfying. Research was in libraries, seminars, workshops, continuing education, in-service training, and by observation and practice at various hospitals and medical centers.  A handbook resulted which enriched the understanding of spiritual life and ministry in-process.  Positive feedback, as well as constructive criticism, came from the participating volunteers. Timothy II"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The purpose of having students write a commentary is to enrich their knowledge of scripture, enhance their relationship with Christ, improve their ability to apply scripture and introduce them to various Bible study aids. The 119 students listen to introductory lectures and engage in individual study. They then are divided into eighteen groups.  Each group is assigned a paragraph and writes a commentary on their section.  The results of the project suggest that writing a biblical commentary can be a useful endeavor for high school students.
