Both theological and psychological perspectives are brought to bear upon one complex life experience of cutting. Special attention is given to the subject of embodiment and to various schools of psychology, broadly construed, that understand physical well-being and psychological well-being as integrally related.  These perspectives are brought into dialogue as they elucidate the story that unfolded in an interview with one former client who has cut. It drew on bodies of literature from Twelve Step traditions, addiction and shame, Object Relations Theory, and Roman Catholic pastoral tradition.  Results showed that the model/program was very helpful to participants.
