Implementation was the main qualitative research method used. The main objective was to implement five different components into the small group ministry with the hope that group participation would increase to a percentage which reflected Central Church's stated vision that small groups were an important way to connect. The report began with a survey of psychological, sociological, and theological insights into male depression.  The support group consisted of eight weekly sessions with homework assignments drawn from CR material, Hart's book, and daily devotionals. The key conclusion of the project was that depressed Christian men can be aided significantly through an integrated, Bible-based support group. A small group model was adopted and tested in a thirteen week pilot program. The model aimed to strengthen biblical community and spiritual formation. Questionnaires were sent to 34 churches, groups, or individuals around the world, who were involved in a small group ministry.  Out of this research, several convictions grew which gave direction to our approach.  The necessity of building discipleship of a corporate nature caused us to investigate the level of desire among previously 'discipled' people in the church.  A Leadership Training Group Manual and two leadership training groups were developed.  Nine couples and one individual were equipped for this ministry.
