Over the 8 weeks of the course students were exposed to biblical teachings on divorce and remarriage and how these teachings tend to be organized into biblical positions. While students were not compelled to embrace a particular position, they were encouraged to draw definite conclusions based upon teachings. The author draws principles from Apostle Paul's relationship with the Corinthians, interpersonal theory, and pastoral theology.  The manual presents a three-step program: education, evaluation, and application.
