Cecile Currier in her book Learning to Step Together (1982) reports that there are 1300 new stepfamilies forming every day in America.  The question is, What is the church doing to help stepfamilies? Stepfamily adults gathered to form a support group dealing with loyalty conflicts, ex-spousal issues, discipline, strengthening the marriage relationship and others. Important to the course is the Bible study material relating to the subject matter being discussed. The long work hours, frequent deployments, and the constant threat of war create a continuous stress.  An Army chaplain is challenged to meet family needs in the midst of these difficult circumstances.  This project looks at today's American family both sociologically and theologically.  It then goes on to explain a four-pronged program for military families.
