To test this idea of community, we conducted leadership training to handle every member should they decide to join one. Seven new leaders and apprentices along with a host family carried the load of creating our desired result of connecting our church membership into small groups. This project evaluated core classes in light of the Apostle Paul's goal of strengthening churches and their members, the biblical content of the kerygma and the didache necessary to strengthen every Christian, the means of instruction for facilitating lifelong learning, and the means of assessing the progress of the learners as a result of the teaching. The research design combines feedback from church leadership and participants as well as non-participants in the classes through surveys and open-ended interviews. This project introduces small group ministry to Grace Baptist Church of Cedarville, Ohio through the development and evaluation of a pilot program. This congregation's conservative roots, circumstances, and culture required strong biblical and theological evidence of the validity of small groups. A small group model was adopted and tested in a thirteen week pilot program. The model aimed to strengthen biblical community and spiritual formation. As the divine architect of marriage, God offers guidelines for insuring a healthy pursuit of marital intimacy. Thus this project has, with necessary limitations, developed a unit within the undergraduate course, 'Theology of marriage' at Central Bible College, describing a perspective of a theology of marital intimacy.
