The project design consisted of a didactic seminar, the establishment of a tourism ministry committee, training and planning sessions, and the church's approval of the committee's recommendations.  Experimental and descriptive research methodologies were used with seminar participants and tourism ministry committee members. Statistically significant growth was measured in seminar participants' understanding of the biblical concept of mission (p=5.19) and committee members' development of basic leadership skills (p=1.44). The historical and descriptive survey methods of research were used to determine the developmental changes of midlife and the prevalent needs of adults experiencing those changes.  Six couples participated in an eight-week training program at First Baptist Church, Clarksville, Tennessee.  At the conclusion of the training, the results were tested by statistical standards and other methods. The thirteen week project was implemented in three phases.  The project director assisted the participants in discovering, developing, and using their spiritual gifts in ministry tasks.  Activities included sermons, a retreat, training sessions, and field experience. Evaluation involved a pretest and posttest questionnaire, critical observation, and several interviews by the director.
