The thesis follows the journey of a new church development congregation through the eyes of their former minister.  The research data was collected in three ways: questionnaire; interviews done by an objective interviewer; and personal recollections by the author.  This information was shared in the context of contemporary literature and theological reflection. Results indicate that newlyweds understand home, including a church or spiritual home, to be a place where they can be comfortable, be themselves, find satisfying relationships, have memories and be renewed or find energy.  Using descriptive qualitative research methodology, ten interviews were conducted with recently married young couples and a focus group of three couples who were active in church and married three to nine years.
