The central finding was that a defense of the faith is critical in the context of an increasingly secular and humanistic environment. The outcome was to equip believers to confidently share the reality, reliance, and relevance of Jesus Christ in their sphere of influence in the evolving pluralistic landscape of Barrie, Ontario, Canada. Yet many of these church members were well educated and some of these lay-leaders could be trained as lay-preachers. The objective of this project is to train and empower a group of lay-leaders to preach in the first generation Chinese immigrant churches. The project will conduct 16-20 sessions of training, some practical preaching opportunities, and the evaluations.
