This will be done through an eight session, sixteen hour seminar. It will describe healthy anger and guilt, inform the class what unhealthy anger and guilt look like, then discuss the symptoms and consequences of living with unresolved anger and guilt. Interventions and Bible studies will be presented as ways to resolve these issues. A one year follow up was done with the seminar participants. This project accomplishes this by identifying a theology of preaching, by defining the narrative sermon, by critiquing homiletical books on Acts, by showing how to write a narrative sermon, and by preaching Acts 13-28 to a local church. There is little understanding of the strategic need for a phased program of disciple making. Some churches are behind in this matter in that the church makes no arrangement for a planned, cohesive, well-coordinated ministry of taking people from the basic truths of the gospel and moves them on in the growing process. Pastors can have effective ministry as disciple makers and as change agents in the local church to help alleviate this problem. There are people in the local church who have never moved beyond simple belief in Jesus Christ; one result being a void in lay-workers and stunted spiritual lives. This major project is designed to demonstrate practically how a pastor can effectively lead a men's small group basic discipleship course. The two factors that harness conflict's catalytic potential and avert conflict's destructive power are mechanisms for directing conflict toward positive outcomes and effective mediators. The research base was constructed around the writer's experience as a mediator and his ongoing study in the field. The project traces the development of the retreat's design to accomplish these objectives. The achievement of these objectives is evaluated through the use of reflections by retreat participants, surveys of retreat alums, and interviews with pastors. The workshop helped these leaders investigate this tool to determine if they would like to pursue its use and offered assistance in how to find a spiritual direction relationship. A handbook entitled the Beginner's guide to spiritual direction relationships (SDR) is included which workshop participants read along with attending eight sessions to discuss the handbook and other topics related to SDR. It is our conviction that those whose ministry it is to make disciples of Jesus Christ need to be helped in making sure they are attending to becoming disciples themselves. The SDR Workshop is a tool offered for that
