The workshop was developed and implemented by the author in cooperation with Ecuadorian leadership during a two-year term from July, 1999, to June, 2001. Questionnaires and interviews were used to evaluate the outcome. They indicated significant involvement in discipling as much as two years after the workshop. Eleven of these institutions are in North America.  The emergence of spiritual formation offices on each campus is a rather new development.  This project describes and critiques spiritual development programs at four Nazarene universities in North America.  The study explores the interaction between a Wesleyan understanding of sanctification and spiritual formation. Information gathered through open-ended interviews was used to determine what programs were most effective. The ten issues highlighted were: (1) who am I? (2) God's Word, (3) prayer, (4) solitude, (5) time, (6) pain, (7) temptation, (8) humility, (9) forgiveness, and (10) the evidence, which is the fruit of the Spirit.  The project was accomplished in ten teaching sessions which lasted 1 1/2 hours per session.  Individual mentoring was also part of the process.
