The ten issues highlighted were: (1) who am I? (2) God's Word, (3) prayer, (4) solitude, (5) time, (6) pain, (7) temptation, (8) humility, (9) forgiveness, and (10) the evidence, which is the fruit of the Spirit.  The project was accomplished in ten teaching sessions which lasted 1 1/2 hours per session.  Individual mentoring was also part of the process. The author's qualitative research analyzes written, historical documents from and current interviews with the nine students who participated in Grace University's 1997 six-month missions training program in Mali, west Africa.
