The author studied clergy-artists, burn-out and renewal, and the artistic heritage of Charles Wesley. She connected the God-human covenant with the covenant of Christian marriage and suggested that love, loyalty and mutual respect are some of the elements central to keeping covenant.  The discernment of this covenant relationship with God and each other was described through biblical exegesis, theological doctrine, contemporary writings and artistic expression.
