The presentation ofmaterials was made from a feminist perspective, examining critical feminist issues.  Use of the model examined how the use of prayer and meditation can be used in pastoral counseling to develop a deepened spirituality through an individual faith journey.  A select group of women worked with the model which consisted of seven sessions. Following the experiment each was interviewed and an evaluation was used to determine its effectiveness. A one-year timeframe was used to evaluate the effectiveness of the model which encourages clergy to find a point of balance in ministry, specifically in light of theology of self-care. The unique call of the congregation has challenged the church to respond to new needs and problems at the end of the twentieth century. The project is a study of the special role of congregations and the unique relationship between the social sciences and theology. It includes an overview of literature available on consultation, conflict and community and an analysis of two processes of intervention: 'shalom-building' and 'bridgebuilder.' Four case studies illuminate the two intervention processes.
