The shift has enhanced the ends of marriage to acknowledge and include the importance of partnership and community. This project explains a contemporary understanding of the sacrament of marriage. Additionally, it presents the John Gottman research-based marital therapy process. It demonstrates the strong correlations between a Roman Catholic theology of marriage and Gottman's Sound Marital House theory.
