This project determined the most significant issues that pastors and families of forced exits need to address after they leave their church and during the time of transition. This project used interviews and questionnaires of leaders of ministries who work regularly with pastors of forced exits. Ten issues were identified as being the most important issues for pastors of forced exits to address. This project will advocate that trained transitional leaders, also called interim pastors, are best trained to deal with those congregational dynamics between permanent pastors.  After clarifying the issues involved when congregations lose their pastors this project looks to the scriptures to identify similar dynamics of change to find ministry suggestions.  It then tabulates the results of surveys sent out to American Baptist Church interim pastors, search committees, and incoming permanent pastors in assessing the work of interim pastors. The author researched both the history and the methodology of prayer in the cell context.  The resulting 'prayer life' church-wide emphasis combined large group teachings with self-study materials and small group discussions and activities designed specifically to work within the cell-based church environment.
