The project intended todemonstrate the essential skills necessary for lay volunteers to lead a church ministryteam. The project included three phases: research, curriculum design, and equipping. Thefirst phase involved researching the field of team ministry leadership to identify theessential skills of team ministry leadership. During the second phase of curriculumdesign, I utilized the findings of the research phase to develop a curriculum teaching theessential skills of team ministry leadership. I employed the curriculum to equip selectedadults with the essential skills of team ministry leadership to accomplish the third phaseof the project. Expert evaluators reviewed the research and curriculum designcomponents utilizing a rubric for each component. The project's director researched various engagement strategies and surveyed the church laypeople to determine their value for ministry engagements. Next, the director created a ministry engagement team to develop the best strategy for the church with the obtained research. The ministry leadership team submitted the completed strategy to the church leadership team and obtained their approval. The project director researched spiritual formation, various approaches to discipleship in the church, and church strategy planning to determine best practices to fit First Baptist Denison. The project director also performed an internal audit of the Church's current adult discipleship process to determine how the church must improve in providing a clear pat of spiritual development,The project director selected a team of church members, consisting of five core leaders who led triads within the fifteen-person group during the discipleship strategy planning process, which took place over five sessions, to develop a discipleship strategy that encompasses and directs all church programs and ministries. The project director developed a communication plan for the resulting discipleship strategy with the five core leaders, published as a one-page tracking sheet for members to direct and track their spiritual growth. The project director started the project by researching the field of spiritual formation in order to identify foundational components. Then he wrote a curriculum he could use to equip selected adults of his church. Finally, in a two-day seminar, he equipped seven adults to develop a personal spiritual formation map.Over the course of completing his project, the project director increased his knowledge of the foundational components of spiritual formation and increased his skill of curriculum writing. The project explored research in the field of prayer; constructed an distributed a survey to determine the beliefs and practices of Tupelo Christian Preparatory High School students related to prayer; led a workshop for a select group of students, parents, and faculty in the formulation of a prayer strategy; developed a multimedia presentation of the prayer strategy; and led the strategy team to prepare for a presentation to the Tupelo Christian Preparatory School Board for consideration. The evaluation methods for this project included expert opinions in the researched sources, the development of a prayer survey, the training materials, the formation of the strategy, and the presentation methods used for the strategy.
