The case study provides implications for other congregations attempting a similar re-creation as well as suggestions for various levels of the United Methodist connectional system. Such understanding took concrete form when twelve people undertook a structured project involving group study, journaling, and direct involvement with the homeless and their advocates.  A proposal calling for church involvement with the homeless evolved.  The strength of the project/study arose out of one constant: exploring the relationship between spirituality and servanthood. He emphasizes that the recognition and acceptance of the languages and cultures are absolutely essential to any attempt toward evangelization. The author reports the positive evaluation of this project through the use of interviews, and church-based ministry, drawing on the National Plan for Hispanic Ministries of the United Methodist Church. He incorporates both academic and applied knowledge gained from his own research, and the National Plan. The author also incorporates his own experience gained while working in close alliance with the Hispanic community for the past thirteen years.
