It suggests a structured network of covenant family group ministry in a church to build up and enrich Christian families for faith development. In developing mutual ministries of pastoral care an overview of methodology and the actual training experience for one local congregation are described.  Included in these ten sessions are theoretical definitions of pastoral care, biblical and theological underpinnings for caring ministries, and pragmatic training skills for listening and responding pastorally. Conclusions from pastoral interviews and presentations are cited. Using a survey of local clergy and church members, this project assesses the perceived need for, value of, and role expectations of hospital chaplains at the Malden Hospital, Malden, Massachusetts, and the willingness of local churches to support chaplaincy services. This project depicts the kinds of stress this type of caregiver has to endure.  How is a nurse affected by the stress, and how does it affect her religious practices and beliefs?  The project finds that: 1) the work forces a nurse to evaluate her religious practices of the past, to determine their relevance for the present and to act accordingly.  A weak bond snaps.  A strong one strengthens. The experience of inner freedom to become, and the openness to the future, sprung forth out of an exile crisis situation and its healthy resolution.  This is the psycho-spiritual basis for pastoral care ministry. Achieving relationships, boiling down the problem, and coping actively are the phases of a crisis counseling paradigm. The reasons why the club does not qualify as a model for other congregations to emulate are articulated.
