This project concentrates on three growing churches in Saigon--An-Dong, Tran Cao Van and Truong Minh Giang--to attempt to discover reasons and factors that have enabled these churches to grow under Communist oppression from 1975 to 1983.  The project includes a short, critical review of the history of Protestantism in Vietnam and a discussion of various forms of Communist persecution of religion, citing the positive and negative effects on the Protestant church. This project uses the focused interview to identify transitional difficulties and the availability of assistance in these categories: theological, personal, economic, familial and relocation.  It draws conclusions, with correlative implications, from these interviews.  Southern Baptist ministers, generally, are not adversely affected by ministry in the military.  They usually return successfully to ministry within their denomination. Death anxiety is reviewed in the literature and critically examined in the approaches of Becker, Lifton, and Yalom; and from a biblical-theological perspective.  A curriculum was developed for adult education on death and dying. A historical analysis of the past twenty years revealed the rapid growth of Korean immigrants in America.  Such rapid growth caused extreme cultural shock and severe family crisis within the traditional Korean family system. Charisma is defined as 'God's grace that motivates and enables Christians to minister in God's power'.  Romans 12:3-9 is the only list of 'spiritual gifts' that begins with the technical term Charismata. Distinction is made between 'offices' (Ephesians 4:11-12), 'manifestation of the Spirit' (1 Cor 12:7-11) and Charismata.  The hypothesis, 'as Christians learn what their spiritual gift is, they will be freed and equipped for ministry' is supported with surveys and interviews with 21 members of St John's Presbyterian Church in Los Angeles.
