Generations need to nurture and be nurtured, to teach and be taught; and to mobilize these common human needs. Evidence of the effectiveness was provided as participants completed a personal vision statement.  Twelve women participated in a retreat, four-week small group experience and concluding celebration.  All said the experience positively impacted their ability to deal with midlife issues. The thesis was field-tested by two groups in two separate churches.  Each group followed the theological basis and the guidelines that were recommended for building and implementing a vision that was to lead to a new ministry within each church. A new ministry was born within each church.  The process and the experience of the process brought forth a positive and renewing effect upon the participants and spread beyond them. Census data from within the church membership is compared to community census data. Attitudes and feelings are measured by comparing a church member focus group with a focus group of community people not members of the church. This study finds that rural congregations can do quality evaluations of their communities. The goal of the project is to provide pastors with a tithing seminar experience.  Data, collected from 71 pastors through a survey questionnaire, was analyzed and a seminar developed to stimulate an interest in tithing.  A four-week tithing program was implemented in a test local church by a pastor who attended a tithing seminar.  The pastors were equipped to assist believers and exposed to resources to help them lead to a tithing emphasis.
