This project assessed the effectiveness of integrational ministry to single mother-led households in DuPage County, Illinois. Exegesis of key biblical passages revealed that these families were analogous to the widows and orphans in the biblical text. Data was collected via surveys of both church leadership and single mothers to determine ministry effectiveness to these families. Focus groups of ministry leaders used the survey data to assess current local church ministry and determine areas of needed improvement. The church has chosen to define the vocational call more in terms of function rather than its nature. Ministry that does not include a preaching element fits into the accepted categories of service in the church. However, this functional position undercuts the power of God's call to all and elevates clergy-related leadership as the more desired calling. Hence there is a need to ably and holistically evaluate the nature and not merely the function of the call. The focus of this project was to design a framework of Scripture, reason, experience, and tradition to clarify this process better assist those working through their sense of calling. It is hoped that under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, they will apply and exercise their calling to some aspect of full-time clergy or called laity ministry. The key conclusion of the research was that with some exception there was among the congregation congruence with the denomination's doctrinal statement on a vital teaching that seems unpopular or unwelcome in the current climate of 'felt-needs' ministry. He then reports on a strategic planning session aimed at identifying initiatives that would enable Damascus Community Church to become more effective in realizing those outcomes through their children's ministries. It hypothesizes that orchestrating covenant relationships produce a benefit to a small group's relational health by restraining both harmful cultural values and weak human nature that dissuades people from nurturing resilient bonds. To promote the acceptance of covenant-making, a three-step process includes assessment, instruction and training, and implementation for a facilitator to follow based upon exegetical and theological proofs supported by supplemental sociology research. The assessment step was applied to a local church's small group program and evaluated. Kingdom identity is one way to transform immigrants to be more representative of the Vancouver multicultural context both within and outside the church. Kingdom identity is also a means of offsetting or balancing a supratribal or pride identity that can be counterproductive to the congregation's overall inreach and outreach. This project describes the organization and execution of a discipling ministry as one part of an overall campus ministry effort in a Christian college.  The purpose of the campus discipling ministry was to strengthen and nurture the spiritual formation of students.  Eighty students who had participated in the formal discipling ministry completed Likert assessment tools.  The data was compiled and analyzed, discovering the strengths and weaknesses of the student discipling experience.
