Forty-six members of North Boston Korean United Methodist Church in Andover, Massachusetts, participated in this project from March 1993 to December 1994. A pre-test and post-test was administered on two representative groups of fifteen members of First Christian Church.  The experimental group was given four lectures on Campbell's pacifism in addition to a series of peace sermons.  The control group heard only the sermons. Content analysis was used to evaluate data gathered from interviews of six original members and twelve new members who joined after the merger.  Problems revolving around fears of anonymity and loss of intimacy affected the assimilation of original members. The making of new friends was important in deciding whether or not original members or new members remained active. Confrontations in newly formed groups inhibited the assimilation process. Parish-based evangelization was shaped by contemporary Roman Catholic concepts of parish, lay ministry, and evangelization.  The project consisted of 1) involving parishes, 2) forming lay evangelization committees, and 3) developing evangelization activities.  This was done in four parishes in the Washington, DC area, between May 1988 and June 1989. Research showed that parishes became involved and people were reached by evangelization projects. Feelings, activities, and reasons for retirement were considered and included: anticipation of freedom from the schedule of meetings and other time-intensive demands; expectations to continue their calling as ministers in some way; and satisfaction in retirement related to collegiality if practiced in active ministry.  The author suggests that all levels of church governing bodies reconsider their policies and programs for the retirement of ministers. Fourteen church members followed a daily devotional plan for six weeks.  Tested before, during, and after the six weeks of daily devotions, the participants reported frequency of perceived hindrance to worship and prayer life in devotion to God.
