The author researched biblical concepts of hospitality. Sermons and Sunday School classes focused on hospitality. The method of research was twofold: to preach and teach on hospitality, and to track the attendance and number of visitors to the congregation. The results were premature but promising, leading to the suggestion that a longer time frame is needed in order to assess the measurable transformation that has taken place due to a congregational emphasis on biblical hospitality."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Wesley Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["5a6e4a36-5801-4bff-8e61-86d7489efb4a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799721534234820608,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T03:23:23.883Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T07:14:01Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T02:03:51Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"494a3595-57b4-4162-b978-b0c3c8859b43","accessControl_ssim":["01331c8e-eaf7-4eb4-956a-65629ad0116b"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Cham sae church members: a case study in the church's ministry of hospitality"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T07:14:01Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T00:16:47Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["caad33af-b925-4945-b4a0-ec4655a20fe7"],"hasLease_ssim":["b9641901-6a59-43fe-bff9-b04ddf512dc8"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Doctor of Ministry"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Wesley Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Lewis A Parks"],"year_tesim":["2002"],"resource_type_tesim":["D.Min. Being recognized by him as persons of value and God-given identity enabled these nonpersons to see themselves as beloved children of God. Since the church often has failed in welcoming the stranger: the homeless, homosexuals, and other marginalized people, a Bible Study was developed that emphasized the lost spiritual discipline of hospitality. This project provides a strong biblical and theological foundation for hospitality.
