Experiential evidence suggested that ministers do not discuss these issues because of lack of medical knowledge. A booklet covering ethical process, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, intubation and mechanical ventilation, artificial nutrition and hydration, antibiotic usage, and comfort measures was written to educate ministers. The booklet was evaluated through a pre- and post-seminar questionnaire. The evaluations determined that understanding of end of life issues improved by 45% after the participants took the seminar. As the Chairperson of its Order, the author examined the question: how can the Order of Elders be a viable body which will increase the number of elders in its activities and nurture them spiritually?  First the author explores the history of peer accountability and the creation of the Order of Elders based on the Wesleyan tradition and theology/doctrine.  Then the author presents a case study from the author's own experiences. Upon arrival, he found that the congregation did not have any exposure or experience in mission. This case study will follow Sterling's journey as it utilized a seven-stage strategy: (1) finding the motive, (2) becoming grounded theologically and in faith, (3) gathering information, (4) initiating the process, (5) having effective communication, (6) official reporting, and (7) evaluation as needed. The spirituality of prayer is vital both in an individual life and in the life of a community.  When faced with personal difficulties, family issues, social conflicts, and relationship problems, we pray and ask others to pray for us.  It is natural for us to ask for intercessory prayer when troubles come in our daily lives.  A theology of prayer regards prayer as a key to all these troubles. Self help advice versus God centered instruction: can biblical expositional preaching provide answers for contemporary issues?"],"abstract_tesim":["In today's culture, it seems as if the voice of the therapeutic culture is louder and having more validity than the word of God.  As the pastor of the historic Tabernacle Baptist Church in Augusta, GA, the author was able to ask the question: can biblical expositional preaching help a multigenerational church steeped in therapeutic culture deal with contemporary issues?  A case study was produced where first the author developed a focus group to develop the contemporary issues that were important to the congregation as well as a survey to identify the top contemporary issues to be highlighted in a sermon series preached at Tabernacle Baptist Church.  After the sermon series, those who participated in the initial survey were asked to participate in a follow-up survey to see if the preaching was helpful in dealing with contemporary issues. Christians are searching for a relation with a power higher than they are. Exploring ways to be intimate with God, without being rigid and insensitive to the needs of the people has compelled me to take action and offer a viable approach. However, ineffective models that currently serve God's people are dangerous. the case study of Charis Worship Center Ministries specifically demonstrates the unique use of the House Church concept in the formation of this ministry. This model must closely matches that of Jesus Christ's ekklesia. This was continued through two additional programs funded for 4th grade students and physically and mentally challenged adults. This ministry has grown to encompass ecological and economic resource projects that take place at the Agricultural Experimental Station, University of the District of Columbia, Muirkirk Research Farm, Beltsville, Md. The 2007 project had two components: (1) A study of the Amaranth plant (Pigweed) for a possible 'niche' market; and (2) The study and removal of invasive species with the protection and restoration of native species.
