The work of the church can become distracted by other standards. For the church to remain strong in the world it must be undergirded by the leadership lessons of Jesus. Using the Gospel of Mark as the theological basis for this study, the author shows that this spirit of intentionality is characteristic of Jesus as he conducts his ministry with a 'sense of urgency.' The challenge is for the church to regain this same passion in its ministry to the world."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Wesley Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["5a6e4a36-5801-4bff-8e61-86d7489efb4a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799715596859867136,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T01:49:01.561Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T09:20:44Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T02:18:06Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"357daada-9aee-4911-9148-ad0664091eaf","accessControl_ssim":["3c57baaf-0971-4dae-abe4-666cf829b796"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Stepping off the X, spinning in the spirit: a spiritual approach to congregational leadership"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T09:20:43Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-16T23:40:30Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["12c9283f-48b4-4e78-9744-0538f0ee9206"],"hasLease_ssim":["871e2755-0b52-4172-9f7b-ba3317ec0392"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Doctor of Ministry"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Wesley Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Lewis A Parks"],"year_tesim":["2004"],"resource_type_tesim":["D.Min. The author researched biblical concepts of hospitality. Sermons and Sunday School classes focused on hospitality. The method of research was twofold: to preach and teach on hospitality, and to track the attendance and number of visitors to the congregation. The results were premature but promising, leading to the suggestion that a longer time frame is needed in order to assess the measurable transformation that has taken place due to a congregational emphasis on biblical hospitality."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Wesley Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["5a6e4a36-5801-4bff-8e61-86d7489efb4a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799721534234820608,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T03:23:23.883Z","score":1.0}],"facets":[{"name":"resource_type_sim","items":[{"value":"D.Min.
