The project’s initial phase consisted of an internal audit of First Baptist Church and a demographic study of Sulligent, Alabama, to identify needs that existed for people with special needs and their families at First Baptist and in the community. The second phase involved researching existing strategy models of special-needs ministry to determine best practices. In the third phase, I led a strategy team of selected church leaders and experienced members to develop a strategy for a special-needs ministry. Over six strategy sessions, the strategy team used research and studies to develop a proposed strategy for First Baptist to minister to people with special needs and their families at the church and in the community. The project director will determine the church's need for revitalization by analyzing the demographics of the surrounding community and performing a church health survey with the membership.  The project director will research the field of church revitalization to determine the best practices for developing a revitalization strategy, then the project director will train the church council and other leaders to develop a revitalization strategy.  The project director will present the completed strategy to the church for approval during a business meeting.  Experts in the field of church revitalization will be used to evaluate the process and finalized strategy. The project director researched methods of curriculum development. A curriculum development method was selected and a six part workshop was developed to equip the selected members for incarnational ministry. The project director developed lesson plans and instructed the selected deacons on the key issues of new member assimilation. The selected deacons identified needs for the assimilation of new members into Bethel Baptist Church. The project director enlisted a field mentor, professional educator, and practitioner for the evaluation of different aspects of the project. The project director studied key resources in order to determine the essential elements of an evangelistic preaching model and established a standard of research. The project director submitted the essential elements and the standard of research for review to experts in evangelistic preaching. Following the identification of the essential elements of an evangelistic preaching model, the project director developed four sermons based on the evangelistic preaching model. The project director then preached the sermons to the congregation of The Beginnings Church.
