An internal auditof the congregation was conducted alongside the church’s ten-year Annual ChurchProfile data resulting in a report of areas of focus for discipleship. The project directordeveloped an annotated bibliography and report of best practices after conductingresearch in the field of disciple making. The reports of areas of focus and best practiceswere used to lead the Libby Baptist Church leadership team to develop a strategy fordisciple making. Third, the project director led a group of selected leaders through a strategy planning retreat and developed a volunteer leadership strategy. Fourth, the project director presented the strategy to the pastor and Administrative Committee for approval. The implementation of the strategywas outside the scope of this project. An internal demographic study of Victory Baptist Church provided revitalization data for Victory Baptist Church. The project director conducted research in the field of church revitalization to determine the most effective practices. The project director selected a strategy team to help develop a revitalization strategy. Once the strategy team developed a revitalization strategy, I presented the strategy to the staff and deacon body of Victory Baptist Church, Monroe, Louisiana, forconsideration.I then utilized evaluation methods, which include, expert evaluators for the internal demographics, the most effective practices of revitalization, and the developed revitalization strategy. A pretest and posttest were used to evaluate the revitalization strategy team’s knowledge of revitalization. The congregation will start to develop a deeper sense of biblical theology and spiritual empowerment by understanding the context and application of Old Testament narrative, and thus helping the congregation potentially see spiritual empowerment from other biblical narrative texts within the canon of Scripture.The project director will be using the Preaching Skills Enhancement model with three phases to accomplish this mode. Phase one will consist of researching expository preaching and proper exegesis of Old Testament narratives. Phase two will be the formulation, writing, and preaching of a sermon series from Old Testament narrative. The project director investigated the curriculum writing process by c0ompleteing the self-guided study, Design for Teaching and training by Leroy Ford. The project director wrote the curriculum after completing the study. An expert evaluator in the field of curriculum writing evaluated both of these steps.
