Randomization was used to form the experimental and the control groups from volunteer pastors. There was no significant difference found between the means of the groups in their answers to the Interpersonal Behavior Survey. The only exceptions were the Infrequency, the Initiating Assertiveness and the Requesting Help scales. All the goals of the AT were accomplished. Participants met weekly for three months, presented verbatim and reflected on how they were learning to share the vision.  The group discovered that developing shared vision is an ongoing process requiring deliberate reflection and accountability.  Leaders seeking to do so must comprehend the vision profoundly, be genuinely committed to it and learn how to refer to the vision statement explicitly in all aspects of their ministry. The clergy and lay leadership of a small congregation participated in the project, which began with a consultation which sought to name and understand the issues of conflict within the congregation. This was followed by a six week Bible study.
