Guest speakers and movies, as well as discussions, covered a general overview of the problem in New Hampshire and elsewhere, the various categories of abuse, means of prevention, and methods of treatment.  Special attention was given to the response of the clergy to child abuse--their legal responsibility to report it, their moral responsibility to accept it, and their need to deal with their own psychological reaction to it. The context of the project was a three week clinical course in hospital ministry based on the pastoral counseling theories of Adams, Hiltner, and Clinebell and Carl Rogers' ideas.  The results from the project revealed a bell-shaped pattern of change.
