This interrelationship is illustrated by the dissociative disorder core metaphor (DDCM) model developed in this doctoral thesis. This theo-psychological model combines insights from object relations theory, formation of God images, self psychology, cognitive science, faith development, and metaphorical theology. Clinical materials presented in this thesis are not case studies but are illustrative clinical examples which demonstrate the principles of the DDCM model from a psychotherapy perspective."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Boston University"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["2d58bd09-76d0-4970-b257-d55229e0173e"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799715215040839680,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T01:42:57.429Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T03:27:24Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T01:41:02Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"9ba9955c-afec-4054-9aa8-3806aeb38e1f","accessControl_ssim":["23d53f01-4da5-43ee-9753-5a0122b976bb"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["An aftercare program utilizing spirituality in the recovery from substance dependency"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T03:27:23Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T02:41:15Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["e5c8c10a-66b6-4058-b935-2f7b86c7c4c4"],"hasLease_ssim":["73f1cbbf-2499-4bc4-b6a4-138c5facb0b3"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Boston University"],"advisor_tesim":["Merle R Jordan"],"year_tesim":["1994"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Barry G Watson"],"publisher_tesim":["Boston University School of Theology"],"subject_tesim":["Spiritual life","Substance abuse"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This project investigated the thesis that spirituality is a central factor in the prevention of substance dependency relapse. The project utilized Howard Clinebell's theory of spiritual well-being, Charlotte Davis Kasl's theory of empowerment, Carol Ochs' understanding of feminist spirituality, and the 12-Step and various alternative recovery models in addressing spiritual idolatry. The project was conducted in a sixteen-week out-patient aftercare program involving seven clients. Spiritual well-being was measured by a test-retest method using the Spiritual Well Being Scale developed by Craig Ellison and Raymond Paloutzian, the Keirsey and Bates Personality Profile, and Howard Clinebell's Relational Well Being Surveys. The findings supported the thesis that spirituality is a central issue in the prevention of relapse. The findings also indicated that through seeking well-being in one's primary relationships, one is empowered to experience sustained recovery from substance dependency."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Boston University"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["2d58bd09-76d0-4970-b257-d55229e0173e"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799715095054385152,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T01:41:03.002Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T03:26:56Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T01:59:43Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"bc5a5514-832f-4c8d-ad98-8c127f5f2b59","accessControl_ssim":["abb7d8ca-1dea-480d-bb5a-a80a80485cac"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["The use of psychodrama in a conservative church"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T03:26:55Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T03:33:34Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["32f44345-94ac-410a-b273-0288fad534ce"],"hasLease_ssim":["04e28c9a-5297-40a1-8bfd-4b3e3f75731e"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Boston University"],"advisor_tesim":["Merle R Jordan"],"year_tesim":["1994"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Terry S Smith"],"publisher_tesim":["Boston University School of Theology"],"subject_tesim":["Drama--Therapeutic use"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The purpose of the project was to plan, implement and evaluate the use of psychodrama in a conservative church.
