The plan for action includes a Bible study, an alcohol awareness sermon, a workshop, and a continuum of concern.  The model was tested in four local churches. Interviews, surveys, questionnaires and evaluation forms were used to measure the effectiveness of the model. The Study Guide designed by the author for this project report was used in a group of eight persons.  The Study Guide was structured to assist the participants in a learning process towards growth.  It was a learning process that merged the cognitive (empirical knowledge of six selected Psalms) with the affective (the participant's feelings while responding to the emotional utterances of the psalmist).  It was a learning experience that proved to be different for most of the participants in that it was a spiritual growth experience. The project was designed as a qualitative study.  The methodology was that of the participant-observer.  Through the use of disciplined attention to and comparison of settings, persons, actions, events, words and interview material four factors were found to give work satisfaction: dominion, sharing, freedom and vision.
