First, the project director obtained approval from the church congregation to allow the director to establish a ministry team that would develop the process.  Second, the director researched available materials on assimilation strategies in preparation for equipping team members.  Third, the director explored the field of curriculum design to gain the skills required to create a series of sessions in which the enlisted team members were equipped.  Fourth, the director led the sessions as team members developed the process.  Last, the ministry team presented the proposed process to the congregation for consideration. Ten participants were trained through a five-session workshop that culminated with a weekend retreat. The workshop was entitled, 'Spiritual Formation through Solitude with God.' The workshop was based around the five areas of solitude: stillness, silence, sin, service, and speak. The director identified and enlisted a strategy team at Southside Baptist Church. He used six sessions to equip the strategy team to develop a strategy. The strategy team developed a spiritual formation strategy using small groups. Several avenues of evaluation were used including: expert evaluation, pretest/posttest, surveys, and pastoral reflection. In this project the participants identified a population segment whom they sought to reach through high quality ministries. They examined the mission of the church and organized its ministries around its purposes.  They identified their own spiritual gifts and discovered ways for using gifts to facilitate quality in ministry.  The participants surveyed the ministries, and facilities of their church for areas in need of quality improvements, and developed a plan for making necessary upgrades.
