We studied three traditional responses that have been made at various intervals to the problem of evil, that of Leibniz, Augustine, and Calvin, the thought of Walter Kaufmann on the problem of evil, and three non-traditional responses to the problem made by Spinoza, Schleiermacher, Unamuno, and David Ray Griffin.  In a ten week study group we addressed the philosophical problem of evil with a group of interested laypersons.
