Chapter two examines the theological, biblical, and sociological foundations for a disciplemaking church. It proposes a twenty-four month plan for an intentional, sequential strategy at Calvary Baptist. Chapter three discusses the six seminars our T-NET team attended at Trinity International University. The appendices include some of the substantial homework completed. The monolithic culture is composed of historic residents, while the pluralistic culture pertains to those new in the community. Two outreach services have been developed to penetrate these cultures. The focus of this project is to define the options those churches have in metropolitan areas. Options are limited to the strategies suggested by Lyle Schaller in his book, 21 Bridges to the 21st Century. The author hopes that this project will help churches equip fathers to teach their sons the principles of Proverbs at the beginning of their teen years. The project includes sociological data concerning fatherhood, a theological base of fatherhood, an extended exegetical outline of Proverbs 1-9, and a narration of a ten-week course that fathers and their sons could take together with other father/son units. This paper examines the biblical and theological foundation of 'pastoral care,' then traces the development of the pastoral care worker system developed at First Christian Reformed Church in London, Ontario. The writer interviewed a random sampling of both pastoral care workers and members of the congregation to determine to what degree the pastoral care given and received was accepted. A 'Training Manual for Pastoral Care Workers' was developed and is included in the paper. The study determines that the pastoral care system developed at First Christian reformed Church in London respects the traditional understanding of the Office of Elder as accepted in reformed churches, but expands the options for ministry by involving others who have spiritual gifts for pastoral care ministry. The writer used a specific strategy of introducing innovations that helped the congregation accept this non-traditional pastoral care delivery system. The study of four large North American Chinese churches will provide case studies profiles in order to learn what ministry paradigms are being used to minister to diverse, multicultural congregations. The project conclusion is that parallel ministry paradigm has the most to recommend for any growing Chinese church with multiple worship congregations and multiple pastoral staff. This project proposes an assimilation plan based on adult Sunday school classes reorganized into life stage communities. These communities will provide a network of care and ministry. Eleven classes were involved. Two of the classes were chosen to pilot the plan. Of the remaining nine classes, six embraced the plan in a limited manner and three resisted change.
