The manual is considered the first draft of the manual to be re-written with an African co-author. The first section of the project is the theological and anthropological foundations underlying the manual.  It contains the worldviews of the Old and New Testaments, Bantu and Tonga along with the 'spirit sicknesses' of the Tonga, a theology of spiritual warfare and contextualization. The seminar surveyed the topics of the spiritual world, spiritual warfare, and how to be a victor. Following the seminar, participants read the seminar manual and interacted with a partner to suggested questions.  Results varied according to the interaction with another person.
