The paper describes learnings which indicate that the pastoral counselor, in particular, is able to utilize resources beyond the commonly accepted behavioral models, for the responsible practice of care-giving to those seeking his or her assistance. The places of prayer and spiritual disciplines in the pastoral model are explored, focusing particularly upon the practice of spiritual direction."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Phillips Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["0f3d74d9-8a9b-4580-a458-c2d78a76b977"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799718070990667776,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T02:28:21.076Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-11T22:44:41Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T01:57:15Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"e573058b-990d-4c6f-a2dd-f923940c243b","accessControl_ssim":["6ea64761-3ddd-436e-bd16-e193be7ccf0f"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Spiritual formation and servanthood"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-11T22:44:40Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T04:41:37Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["4f3f886a-9838-4f08-910b-7b2f1679a535"],"hasLease_ssim":["a6f48f47-cc18-4d56-8bff-b4f7b97d8068"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Phillips Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["W David Richards"],"year_tesim":["1985"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Daniel C Eischen"],"publisher_tesim":["Phillips Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Barth, Karl, 1886-1968","Church work","Covenants--Religious aspects--Christianity","Service (Theology)","Devotional exercises","Spiritual formation","Theology"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This project was designed to demonstrate, through appropriate sermons and exercises, that spiritual formation is a combination of a life of private devotion and a life of service to others. Working from a meaning orientation, an integrating modality is developed following Erikson's theory in which the polarities of the final stage are seen as ego integrity or despair. As the past is reviewed the meaning of various situations and events can be reorganized and reintegrated into a more valid picture, giving new meaning to one's life and allowing the sense of ego integrity. Methodology for life review therapy is included."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Phillips Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["0f3d74d9-8a9b-4580-a458-c2d78a76b977"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799717065413623808,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T02:12:22.083Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-11T21:22:16Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T01:37:11Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"7174b1e5-e33f-4716-9756-9b09dd43bb8a","accessControl_ssim":["63cd16bf-720b-4d57-a8c6-cb85fedd16ef"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["The ministry of healing: a theological and psychological rationale with pastoral aids"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-11T21:22:16Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T01:27:35Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["98bc3968-477f-4919-93ef-fc324a98e3cf"],"hasLease_ssim":["3d963db4-e8c1-4cec-9f31-995759c410be"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Phillips Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["W David Richards","M Eugene Boring"],"year_tesim":["1982"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Larry Eugene Harrelson"],"publisher_tesim":["Phillips Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Holy Trinity Episcopal Church (Silver Valley, Idaho)","Psychology","Spiritual healing","Miracles","Jung, C.
