The project examined the literature of premarital counseling, determined through surveys what pastors in the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod South and North Wisconsin Districts are presently using in their ministries, and determined through surveys what premarital counseling the married members of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church had. This research led to development and implementation of a six-session premarital counseling program and a manual covering six topics and designed for couples to keep throughout their marriage. The fields are ripe for harvest but also infested with scientific, secular, cultic and occultic problems. Hence, it is important to heed the call of David L Larsen that the 'evangelical in-roads are at risk and must be protected.'  To do this, an evangelist must have a clear biblical perspective of the call and nature of his commitment.  The changing world view of his own multi-religious mosaic against the Christian world view must be understood, in order to effect a total transformation in experience, and its expression in the cultural and social context of the converted. Also of importance is the virility and vitality of character and spiritual aspect of the evangelist. The research is based on personal interviews with Norman Shawchuck, Lyle Schaller, Leith Anderson and Robert Logan (all church growth authors and consultants).  Ten pastors were also interviewed to share how they personally led churches past 400.  Chapter 3 summarizes the research in a 'church growth pyramid' of prioritized elements necessary to grow past 400.
