The project consists of a chronological, evaluative review of his leadership over the seven years, focusing in particular on his conflict interventions.  It includes an overview of the introduction of new ministries as a part of, and as a result of, these interventions.  The project includes biblical, theological, and methodological overviews of his approaches.  Background, diagnostic, and assessment material are given to show foundational understandings of the conflict and of the actions taken.  The project includes the writer's assessment of his leadership successes and failures including reflections on five informal interviews conducted with representative leaders. Cecile Currier in her book Learning to Step Together (1982) reports that there are 1300 new stepfamilies forming every day in America.  The question is, What is the church doing to help stepfamilies? Stepfamily adults gathered to form a support group dealing with loyalty conflicts, ex-spousal issues, discipline, strengthening the marriage relationship and others. Important to the course is the Bible study material relating to the subject matter being discussed. The author used three different surveys among the leaders and members.  Any increase in cooperation in terms of objective growth was not possible to measure. However, the author found new insights regarding existing weaknesses in the fellowship. Considerable attention is given in the manual to biblical examples of conflict and to cross-cultural factors that influence the way conflict is dealt with in other cultures.  Sources of material included books, articles, and DMN courses on conflict management, inter-cultural negotiations, and cross-cultural management. I also drew from my personal observations as well as those of my associates serving with GMU International. The manual has five major sections.  They are designed for a series of five seminar sessions of two to three hours each. Much mutuality is found among a group of self-directed learners in a learning cell group. Church leaders who are on the cutting edge of ministry must learn to accept and deal with conflict in a positive manner.  This is the thesis of the project.  An initial theology of conflict is developed and is compared with secular theories of conflict currently having influence.  A rationale for the material is included as well as test results from the first group to use the manual. We chose to become involved in T-NET with the hope that we could better equip our participating leaders to understand and carry out their responsibility to guide and serve the church. Early in the process we sensed the need to adjust and this paper records the reorientation of our thinking on the priorities of ministry. Chapter one covers how e developed disciplemaking values in our church using the phases of discipleship evident in the ministry of Jesus. Chapter two describes and assesses our leadership training model. Chapter three contains an honest look at our outreach groups and an extensive description of our launch of a new Adult Bible Fellowship. The final chapter estimates the number of groups that Riverview will need as we continue to develop our ministry.
