Special attention is given to a research-action project of the Alban Institute.  Insights of three area ministers (denominational personnel who serve as resources to local churches and pastors) concerning matters of long tenure are then summarized from interviews.  The main body of the work involves case studies of five pastors whose tenure in a given location has been from 7 to 14 years.  Written materials provided by each are examined and compared, after which highlights from personal interviews are reported.
