This project tests a model for evangelism which emphasizes invitation, encounter with Christ, and involvement in the life and mission of the church.  Tested in a congregation for several years, the model proves a valuable tool for envisioning the task and for evaluating congregational effectiveness.  Evangelism is found to be a difficult task involving every aspect of congregational ministry.  Such an evaluation, and changes it may call for, may be threatening and involve taking risks.
