The program was assessed as to its importance and effectiveness by patients/residents, staff, doctors and by three colleagues.  The developing and implementing phrase was an action research, while the exploring stage was a survey study based on questionnaires, interviews and opinionnaires.  Pastoral care was seen as an important, integral part of the overall healing team and its effectiveness was confirmed by all participants.
