This project consists of academic research coupled with qualitative research data collected from workshops and interviews with pastoral care professionals from the Caribbean.  Because there was insufficient scholarship available to conclusively make a direct link between slavery and the current subsequent behavior of Caribbean people, the author subsequently resorted to describing the oppression and its root causes, as it relates to slavery and colonialism and its resulting effects on the progeny of the slaves in the Caribbean.
