Mentoring is highlighted as an alternative method for African Americans to meet field education requirements. Afrocentricity is an ideological foundation for the ministerial preparation of African American seminarians. The Afrocentric Mentoring Program demonstrates a culturally harmonious model of theological field education for African American students.
