The practicum was conducted over a five-month period, being focused in the work of a ten-member task force.  After an initial phase of spiritual preparation, task force members were encouraged to define the congregation's 'ideal' mission through a modification of Richard Broholm's 'envisioning process.'  Congregational convocations helped the group refine its work for final presentation to the official church council.  Research hints at the value of a mission statement, management by objective, and the envisioning process in church administration.
