The community group that organized to resist the facility's construction was well organized and active, but manifested parochial and anthropocentric characteristics.  The author hypothesized that through sermons, a study group, and an eco-justice statement, members of the Mount Jackson Presbyterian Church would come to understand eco-justice from a more global and theocentric perspective.
