The author seeks to identify ten essential elements for health and vitality in local churches as modeled in the New Testament church.  A survey was developed allowing for an accurate picture of the church in relationship to the ten elements that promote a healthy church. Dealing with the theological image of an abandoning God, this project attempts to develop a theological praxis of ministry which will bring this congregation hope for the present and future. The project undertakes a discussion of loss and hope through breaking of bread, Bible study, and conversation.
